Meet Our Team! *

Berke Çelik

Berke is the Director of Health Progress Hub. Previously, Berke worked with the Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP) and the Alliance for Reducing Microbial Resistance (ARMOR), and worked at the Global Policy Research Group, where he helped launch Health Progress Hub and led the Development Program.

He studied philosophy at Boğaziçi University, where he co-founded a society for impactful careers. Berke is interested in how philanthropy and NGOs can play a role in strengthening health systems in low-income countries. His other interests include economic growth and AI policy. Berke is also the co-founder of AI Safety Türkiye and advises Effective Giving Türkiye.

Estelle Florens

Estelle is Co-Executive Director of Effective Altruism South Africa, where she leads efforts to connect people with opportunities to create meaningful change in areas like global health, poverty alleviation, and animal welfare. She coordinates a continent-wide network of approximately 40 organisers across 8 working groups, and mentors leaders of groups primarily in developing countries to help them build impactful programs. Estelle supports Health Progress Hub and has coordinated support for other global health organisations working on preventing lead exposure and delivering effective health interventions. She has led the planning and execution of major conferences in South Africa, Nigeria and Malaysia. With experience in coordination, entrepreneurship, and government engagement, she is dedicated to reducing suffering and addressing the bottlenecks for high-impact work in underserved regions.

Ceren D. Karabulut

Ceren leads community engagement and communications at Health Progress Hub, driving outreach strategies that create impactful collaborations. She also serves as Co-Director of Effective Altruism Turkey, where she has hands-on experience running programs and organizing community events.

Her professional background includes Vodafone, where she held a management role overseeing B2B SaaS products, focusing on elevating customer satisfaction and refining product journeys. During her time at United Nations Development Program, she was part of the communications team and managed Sustainable Development Goals’ social media accounts.

Volunteer

Tuana Aksu

Tuana volunteers at the Health Progress Hub with a focus on global health fellowship development, curating resources in global health R&D, and exploring neglected areas in global health.

Currently pursuing her Master's in regenerative medicine, she is interested in the intersection of biomedical innovation and global health equity, aiming to contribute to research that advances accessible healthcare in LMIC. Beyond her academic and volunteering activities, she enjoys photography and creating playlists.

  • Tony Senanayake

    Tony leads Fortify Health, a non-profit dedicated to reducing and preventing iron-deficiency anaemia in India.

    He is a strategic generalist and loves using data and evidence to help amplify impact. Tony is a Yale MBA graduate, Rainer Arnhold and Jacobs Foundation Fellow, and a former consultant at IDinsight and Deloitte.

    He also holds a Masters of Laws in International Law and Tax Law, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance.

  • Zacharia Kafuko

    Zacharia is a molecular biochemist and an Arizona State University Mandela Washington fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative. He is the director of 1Day Africa (the African chapter of the international public health nonprofit, 1Day Sooner).

    He brings a wealth of experience through his work focusing on global health, vaccine equity and  future pandemic preparedness especially for Low and Middle Income Countries. This also includes promoting medical and clinical research especially through CHIM studies.

  • Laliteswar Kumar

    Laliteswar is an International development professional with experience in large scale implementation, partnership management and government relations across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

    His expertise lies in design and implementation of large scale programs with government and development partners. He has implemented programs in partnership with governments in Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Malawi and Uganda and with partners like BRAC and BASIX organically through building systems, bringing together organizational functions and developing teams with the ability to reach millions of people.

    Laliteswar has also led complex budget management covering large donors like USAID and BMGF as well as results- based financing, including as Chief of Party for multiple countries.

  • Ben Hyman

    Ben is the CEO and founder of Talent Safari, a recruitment firm helping innovative organizations across Africa find top talent. Before founding Talent Safari, Ben served as Product Lead and Growth Lead at Leta, a Kenyan logistics-tech startup, where he launched operations in Nigeria and helped secure a $5M seed round from Google Ventures and Speedinvest.

    He holds an angel investor role with the Nairobi Business Angel Network. Ben studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, and completed a graduate program in Economic Development in Africa at Harvard University.

  • Patrick Stadler

    Patrick co-founded a European think tank advancing evidence-based international cooperation and pandemic preparedness, among other topics. He mentors startup nonprofits at Ambitious Impact/Charity Entrepreneurship and previously co-founded global health NGO New Incentives.

    He has also held positions with the United Nations and Swiss Government.
